Scott Ross

Scott Ross

Scott Ross needs little introduction, as he has had a long and illustrious career, spanning the last few decades. As general manager of Industrial Light and Magic, he ran the studio for George Lucas, before moving on to found Digital Domain with James Cameron and Stan Winston. Digital Domain is one of the largest visual effects companies in the world, and the team went on to win two Oscars, including one for Titanic. In recent years, Scott has toured the world speaking at industry events, using his vast experience to help promote the work of the VFX community.
Chris Nichols

Chris Nichols

CG Industry veteran Christopher Nichols is a founder of the Digital Human League and is the Director of Chaos Group Labs. He can also be heard regularly as the host of the CG Garage podcast. With a background in both VFX and Design, Nichols has worked for Gensler, Digital Domain, Imageworks and Method Studios. His credits include Maleficent, Oblivion and Tron: Legacy. His passion for design, lighting and technology drives him to push the art form and enable artists worldwide.
Sergio Caires

Sergio Caires

Sergio is a self-taught artist who started working in the CG industry in 1998. He has worked at Axis Studios for 12 years as a Generalist and CG Supervisor). He worked for five years at the DA Group prior to that, as Character Supervisor and then Art Director). Sergio has worked on 90% of the projects Axis has produced over the years, including Code Hunters, Halo Guardians, Dead Island, Dead Island 2, League of Legends: Mind of the Virtuoso, and The Incredible Hulk. Sergio has a true passion for CG and is constantly learning new tools, methods and techniques. His broader interests include science and natural history.
Sébastien Deguy

Sébastien Deguy

Sébastien Deguy is Founder and CEO at Allegorithmic, the makers of the Substance texturing tool suite. He holds a PhD in Computer Science and is also a musician, writer, essayist and dad.

Chris Christodoulou

As CEO, Chris has been the driving force behind the Saddington Baynes’ growth and evolution, from high-end retouch studio to one of the first post-production studios to harness the potential of CGI in-house. Today, the company delivers award-winning visual content and fully integrated creative production services to some of the biggest and best brands on a global level. Chris strongly believes in the power of great imagery to move people and fire the imagination.

Chris also spearheads the development of high-end Configurator solutions for clients, as well as Engagement Insights® – a world-first neuromarketing service and an entirely new way to measure the emotional impact of imagery.

Marc Shephard

Marc Shephard

Marc is a Senior Digital Artist at Saddington Baynes. Specialising in automotive CGI, Marc has a great deal of experience building and animating 3D scenes for video output. He's also adept at texturing and creating shaders, as well as modelling various components. A man of many talents, Marc's role at Saddington Baynes is to take the creative lead on projects, working directly with Client Creatives and Photographers to realise their vision and that of the Creative Director.
Adam Dewhirst

Adam Dewhirst

Adam Dewhirst is the Modeling and Texture Department supervisor for Mill NY. He has over 13 years experience in VFX spanning, Games, film, TV, commericals and children's television.

His first film credit was for the Golden Compass, which went onto win both an Oscar and a Bafta. His lead Modeler credits include WWZ and Guardians of the Galaxy where his team were responsible for bringing Rocket Racoon to life. He has worked on notable films such as The Dark Knight, Clash of the Titans and John Carter of Mars. His TV credits include Dr Who, Ice Age Giants, Sinbad and BBC's Jackanory.

Danny Sweeney

Danny Sweeney

Danny is a Character Artist currently working with Creative Assembly on the Total War: WARHAMMER series. As a long time fantasy and sci-fi fan, he specialises in biped characters, creatures, and hard surface armor and weapons, and is adept at generating efficient real-time characters from high poly sculpts to low poly textured meshes, taking care to study the lore of the WARHAMMER world so to further breathe life into his creations.
Glen Southern

Glen Southern

Glen runs SouthernGFX, a small Cheshire based studio specialising in character and creature design and look development with clients including SKY, Nike, Sainsbury's, Adidas, ATI, Screen Scene, Disney, Lego, Pixologic and Wacom. He's been using and training ZBrush in the UK for over 15 years and is a Wacom Ambassador for the UK and Ireland.

Maya Jermy

Maya Jermy

Maya is a freelance 3D artist and animator based in the UK. She graduated from Computer Animation and VFX at Leeds (Metropolitan) Beckett University back in 2012, which kickstarted her career. Just before graduation, Maya landed her first job in the games industry remaking and animating characters for the classic Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee - New 'n' Tasty. She specialises in character creation and her software of choice are ZBrush and KeyShot. Some of her work can be seen in Q&As and tutorials she writes for the 3D World magazine.
Bader Badruddin

Bader Badruddin is a series Animation Director at Blue Zoo, with over 12 years experience in cartoony character animation for kids TV, Bader has worked on projects for Disney, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and CBeebies across the world.
Simon Holmedal

Simon Holmedal

Simon has been working for ManvsMachine as a technical director for the past 7 years and is now working under his own company. He’s a motion graphics director that specialises in abstract effects with an emphasis on design and intent. 
Hugo Guerra

Hugo Guerra

Hugo is an award-winning Director, VFX Supervisor, and Lecturer from Portugal. During his career, he has worked at the BBC, Nexus, JellyFish and ultimately The Mill, where he became the Head of the Nuke Compositing Department and a VFX Supervisor for 4 years. Since 2014, Hugo has been working with Fire Without Smoke as a Cinematics Director in the triple-A games industry. He has directed and supervised trailers and cinematics for Activision, Ubisoft, Square Enix, Sony, Deep Silver, CCP among others.

Anna Hollinrake

Anna Hollinrake

Anna is a senior concept and environment artist at Dream Reality Interactive and 2017 BAFTA Breakthrough Brit, specialising in creating worlds and defining art styles, low poly modelling, and hand painted texturing. She has worked on large scale properties such as Adventure Time and Magic: The Gathering, as well as lending her visual knowledge to helping craft new IPs. Alongside her work, she is also an advocate for mental health and greater diversity in games. 
Jonas Pilz

Jonas Pilz

Throughout his love for drawing and music, Jonas Pilz realised early that he needs to take a creative profession. He studied Multimedia and Communications at University of Applied Sciences in Ansbach, Germany. There he discovered his passion for 3D graphics and created all of his study projects in Cinema 4D. Having imagination as the only limit is what fascinates him. After graduating from university in 2011 Jonas Pilz worked as a freelance 3D generalist for a period of four years and created lots of visualizations and animations for designated industrial clients and television with Cinema 4D. In 2015 Jonas Pilz became a salaried member of the MAXON family, giving Cinema 4D workshops and presenting MAXON products at trade shows and other public events.

Tom co-founded Blue Zoo Animation and over the studio's 17-year growth the company has become one of the leading CG animation studios in the UK; picking up a few awards along the way. Tom sits on the creative fence between the commercials and technology side of the studio and runs the company’s short film programme.
Ben Steer

Ben Steer

Since joining Blue-Zoo Productions Ltd almost 7 years ago, Ben has had the opportunity to work in many roles, from writing and visual development to animation and directing. He's been lead
animator and animation director on numerous children's TV series and worked on many adverts and promotions in the Blue-Zoo Creative Services department. Ben has also given talks at events such as SIGGRAPH London, BFX Festival as well as Bournemouth University and Norwich University of Arts. Mamoon is the second short film he has written and directed for the company.
Izzy Burton

Izzy has worked as a Concept Artist at Blue Zoo since 2015. Growing up in the middle of the English countryside has inspired her predominantly nature and landscape focused artwork and her passion for storytelling. Izzy studied animation at Bournemouth University where she graduated in 2015.

 

Bob Walmsley

Bob Walmsley

Bob is a motion graphics designer, 3D generalist and educator. His credits include CG artist on the hit Broadway musical 'Finding Neverland' and the Kate Bush 'Before The Dawn' concerts at the Hammersmith Apollo. His motion graphics credits include the Victoria Derbyshire programme on BBC2 and several news features on the BBC News Channel and BBC World. He teaches at Leeds Trinity University where he's a Senior Lecturer in Digital Media. He joined the team at Insydium Ltd in 2017 where he provides training, support and tutorials to X-Particles and Cycles4D users.

Paul joined iToo Software in 2013 as training manager. He is an experienced 3d environment artist and educator who has been working with 3ds Max for over 15 years as a 3D designer and lecturer for the games, product design, and visualisation industries.

Dalia Lasaitė is the co-founder and CEO of  CGTrader, one of the leading 3D model marketplaces globally. Dalia is a serial entrepreneur and has been with the company since 2013. By using her in-depth knowledge of the 3D industry, she established numerous partnerships with 3D software, VR, 3D printing developers, design studios and 3D artists to grow CGTrader into the go-to platform for 3D artists to work, meet and interact in an effort to meet the growing demand for 3D assets in various fields. In May 2016, the Hundert, a Berlin-based startup publication, named Dalia Lasaite as one of Top 100 European female entrepreneurs.

Ben Morris is a visual effects supervisor and creative director at Industrial Light & Magic as well as being a founding member of the company’s London studio, which was established in October of 2013.
Since establishing the London studio alongside executive in charge, Sue Lyster, Morris has stewarded its growth from just 4 individuals to over 400 in today. The London studio launched with projects such as AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS and SPECTRE and continues to work on some of the largest blockbusters in recent
history.
Shayleen Hulbert

Shayleen Hulbert

Shayleen is a freelance character artist based in London specialising in stylised character modelling and texturing, working in a range of aesthetics with extensive experience in PBR and hand painted textures. She started her industry career 3 years ago after graduating from De Montfort university and since then she has had the opportunity to work with both small personal indie companies like 22cans, variable state and large exciting AAA studios like Blizzard and OMNOM Workshop.
 
Matt Swoboda

Matt Swoboda

Matt has worked with computer graphics for over 20 years. He's a a multi award winning, leading member of the PC demoscene, and enjoyed a successful career in game development with Sony Playstation R&D. Latterly he joined the world of live events, creating visuals for major touring productions. 
Spotting an opportunity to make the power of real-time graphics creation accessible to artists and designers he founded Notch in 2015. Notch is the game-changing real-time visual creation tool that keeps up with your ideas,  used from the world's largest shows, live TV, film, VR experiences, music videos and motion graphics. 
Will MacNeil

Will MacNeil

Will MacNeil is an award-winning motion graphics designer, animator and CG Design Director at The Mill's Design studio in London. Will works across a broad range of projects including VR, installations, music videos and commercials. His recent clients include Lush, Vue Cinemas, Sony PlayStation and Huawei. Some of his most recent creative highlights include Huawei ‘Mate 10’ and Ford Mustang’s ‘Make it Personal’ bespoke app.

Will regularly speaks at industry events, most recently traveling to Tokyo to present for MAXON at the CG World Creative Conference and at last year’s Us By Night in Antwerp.
